I've never been to a music festival here in UK before and I must say this was a great first experience! Courtesy of Three & Samsung, I was invited to House Festival 2016 to experience this day of fun, food and music! Three is having an offer for the Samsung Galaxy S7. Find out more details here. There will be 2 parts to this post, one about the festival and the other about the phone I used to take these pictures :)
The event was held from 2pm-10.30pm at Marble Hill House, Richmond on the 7th of July (Thursday). Amongst its main sponsors were You Tube, War Child & English Heritage. It was a good day outdoors as the weather was sunny and warm, which if you're here in the UK, it's definitely something you can relate to.
I headed to the Samsung tent to meet the team and the tent had a nautical theme. One of my all-time favourite theme! I was then invited to try out the Samsung Gear VR. It is a virtual reality headset which works really well for immersive experiences. They gave me a few game choices and I opted for the Horror story. I swear it felt so surreal, especially since the sounds came through the headphones. I actually screamed when things jumped on me in the VR as it felt so real! It must have been pretty funny watching me as I was all jumpy and you couldn't even see what I was feeling! I've tried VR a few times before but this was probably the best one so far as the sound made it so much more surreal and the graphics were pretty intense. It was also good because there were 'buttons' on the side of the headset which allowed for on-screen movements. There was also a photobooth for selfie moments and digital print-outs. Ain't getting any better than that!
This was the oufit I wore to the festival. It was inspired by none other than the Coachella festival. It's really easy to put together, you can read about my details here!
All the brands and companies there really made an effort in beautifying their tent. There were social media competitions, photo booths, and experiences to enjoy. This ranged from fresh flower crown making, to manicures, to face painting. There was something for everyone. And yes, they were all free! Sadly, I didn't manage to get a fresh flower crown made, but hey, at least I had my flower headband already ;) I think YouTube made a really good effort as well. Love the butterfly theme around the logo.
The Three team was lovely and I spent the day with them along with the other bloggers who were invited. They are an absolutely delightful group to hang out with. So glad to have met these wonderful girls! Aren't they gorgeous!?
Also, can I just mention again that all the things in the festival were free. Did I say free? Yes, completely free! There was a wide range of food from BBQ to Seafood, burgers to salads, cakes to ice-cream, you could indulge yourself in all the food offered! I was definitely stuffed throughout the day. The cupcakes from Crumbs & Dollies were delicious! Could have definitely gone back for round 2! They have a branch in SW18 if you're ever in the area! There were open bars as well offering cocktails and drinks, and Grey Goose were mixed into most of the cocktails choices. Awesome!
There was also a fariground with rides such as Ferris Wheel, Merry-Go-Round, Swing Rides, Bumper Cars etc. I love fun fairs as the vibe of it never fails to bring a smile on my face. The music, the performances, the candies.. All of it just comes together to form a field of fun!
Among the artists in the lineup were Kylie Minogue, Tinie Tempah, Jess Glynne, John Newman and many more! I must say they were all pretty good performers as they knew how to interact with the crowd. My favourite performance would have to go out to Tinie Tempah as he knew how to get the crowd going!
Samsung Galaxy S7
All of the photos in this post were taken with the Samsing Galaxy S7. Quality is pretty dope, don't you agree? Anyway, here are a few pros and cons I've noticed whilst using the phone for a few days.
I would say that in general the phone features are great and the camera quality is better than that of Iphone 6S. However, there are a few errors that needs to be fixed. I would definitely recommend going to the store and trying it out for yourself before making any decisions. Afterwards, if it's still something that holds your interest, you can strike on this great deal with Three whereby you pay only £15.50 a month for 6 months with a £149 upfront cost.
